FOV Explored “The Anatomy of A Rumor”
JOAN MILLIMAN, Ph.D., Secretary of the Golden Rain Foundation (GRF) and Chair of the GRF Media & Communications Committee, and EILEEN PAULIN, Marketing and Communications Manager for Village Management Services, Inc., shared the platform for this informative program on June 19, 2018. Both agreed that rumors are not always bad; in fact, they are a necessary part of human communication, arising out of people’s basic need to know. Joan set the scene with an overview of past and present research on how and why rumors behave as they do. Eileen explained what the Village is doing to provide timely, accurate information and to counteract inaccurate information when necessary.
